Education
The Community Theatre of Howell is usually able to offer a number of educational opportunities to it's membership and the surrounding community. While membership is not usually requried to attend our workshops, members will receive a discount on most of our educational offerings.
| Summer Theatre Camp Each summer, CTH offers a two-week, 30 hour, theatre camp experience for youth ages 6 to 18. This is an educationally-based camp. While our attendees have a tremendous amount of fun, the intent is to teach skills and provide experiences for our campers that will assist them in beccoming better performers and better prepared to approach an audition. Our camp is Directed by Scott Usher and Produced by Mary Jo Del Vero who themselves have been involved in over 60 productions with local theatre groups both on stage and behind the scenes. In addition, Scott and Mary Jo are teachers and have an in-depth understanding of the educational process. |

Our camp meets for three hours each evening during a two-week period in the middle of the summer. We are often asked "why in the evening?" The answer to that questions is to accomodate the professional lives of our camp staff. Our camp staff is comprised of caring and compationate individuals who all have a passion for working with youth in a theatrical setting. However, they all have work-related professional obligations outside of the theatre group as well.
Campers are grouped together based upon age and each group is facilitated by at least one Instructor and depending upon the size of the group, an Instructor Assistant.
Summer camp for 2010 is scheduled to take place July 19 through July 30, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each evening Monday through Friday. While the camp is educationally based, we do present what we call a Performance Experience the last 1.5 hours of camp on the final evening for family and friends of the campers.
Registration materials for camp 2010 are now available! Please click here for our camp brochure and registration form. For additional information, please feel free to contact our Camp Director, Scott Usher at (517) 540-1365 or via email at webmaster@cththeatre.org.
